Club Atlas and AKRON Accelerate Electric Mobility in Guadalajara
Club Atlas and AKRON have inaugurated new AKRON EV charging centers at Atlas Colomos and Atlas Country Club, marking a strategic alliance that strengthens their commitment to innovation and sustainability. This initiative represents a significant step toward a cleaner future.
With these installations, Atlas members can now enjoy a fast and secure charging experience. Seven charging points were added—three at Country Club and four at Colomos. With this expansion, the AKRON EV network now includes 22 connectors across the Guadalajara metropolitan area, and it is expected to reach 35 charging points by the end of the year.
By 2025, the projection is to reach 70 charging points in more than 20 locations, including convenience spaces, clubs, highways, and service stations equipped with semi-fast, fast, and ultra-fast charging options.
Cutting-edge technology serving the user
María José Palomar Oetling, AKRON’s Electromobility Manager, emphasized that the network aims to deliver a differentiated service.
“At AKRON EV, we offer a premium charging experience. The charging process, customer support, and operations are integrated to guarantee reliability at all our stations.
The process is 100% digital, and through personalized support we aim to create an agile, friendly, and intuitive charging experience.”
The mobile app—available on iOS and Android—allows users to locate stations, start a charging session, and choose power levels. At Club Atlas locations, two types of charging are available: fast charging (up to 6 kW) and ultra charging (up to 9 kW).

Real environmental benefits
The network also represents an ecological leap forward. Currently, with 22 charging points in operation, it prevents 20,000 kilograms of CO₂ emissions each month—equivalent to the oxygen produced by 1,000 trees. Palomar added:
“With our planned expansion, our goal is to reach an environmental impact equivalent to planting 10,000 trees in this first phase.”
In the case of the Club Atlas charging centers, the estimated monthly reduction is 3,300 kilograms of CO₂, equivalent to 100 trees, representing a 67% decrease in emissions per vehicle using the network.

Atlas’ commitment to sustainability
Fernando Espinosa García, General Director of Clubes Atlas, highlighted that this initiative aligns with the institution’s philosophy and coincides with the club’s 109th anniversary.
“This is a timely and necessary effort. We want to foster a cleaner, pollution-free environment, and this project reflects our institutional commitments.”
Choosing AKRON as a partner was a natural decision because of their previous collaboration on sports projects and the strong support the company provides.
“The AKRON brand has international recognition, and we are convinced it is the best option for us,” he noted.
Espinosa also pointed out the immediate benefits for club members.
“Convenience is key—having this service directly on club premises allows members to make better use of their time and avoid additional trips for charging. It demonstrates ecological commitment and resonates with younger generations who strongly value environmental care.”
Finally, he emphasized the institution’s forward-looking vision:“We want this project not only to set us apart but to inspire other clubs across the country.”
